Hidden Benefits

Father and son

Have you ever wondered about the benefits of reading books? Besides straining your eyes, there really are quite a few benefits, believe it or not! Just a few days ago, I sat down and started analyzing, though Daddy calls it daydreaming, exactly how books have impacted me. Here is a small list I put together. Now, mind you, it’s nothing fancy, scientific, or extraordinary, just a quick run through.

Benefits of surrounding yourself with great literature

Besides improving reading skills, books:

  1. Teach you - You get a whole treasure-trove of knowledge from great material.
  2. Challenge you - By opening up new horizons in knowledge you are challenged to take the next step.
  3. Motivate you - Reading about great people and their accomplishments motivates you to follow in their footsteps.

So here is my short list, I told you it was going to be small! If, by any chance, it was too short for you, go ahead and reread it a couple of times. Though really, in all seriousness, there are a lot more benefits than just these three. So go ahead, get yourself a great book and find out all the rest of them yourself!
