“Family prayer and the pulpit are the bulwarks of Protestantism! Depend upon it, when family piety goes down, the life of godliness will become very low. In Europe, at any rate, seeing that the Christian faith began with a converted household, we ought to seek after the conversion of all our families and to maintain within our houses the good and holy practice of family worship.” – Charles Haddon Spurgeon.
There are not enough words to emphasize the importance of family worship in the home. This is one of the things that we have been practicing in our home for a while now and we see many benefits from it. Another great excerpt:
“The writer has met many people who profess to be Christians, but whose daily lives differ in nothing from thousands of non-professors all around them. They are rarely, if ever, found at the prayer-meeting, they have no Family Worship, they seldom read the Scriptures, they will not talk with you about the things of God, their walk is thoroughly worldly; and yet they are quite sure that they are bound for heaven! Inquire into the ground of their confidence, and they will tell you that so many years ago they accepted Christ as their Savior, and “once saved always saved” is now their comfort. There are thousands of such people on earth today, who are nevertheless, on the Broad Road, that leadeth to destruction, treading it with false peace in the hearts and a vain profession on their lips.” - Arthur W. Pink
Hopefully these excerpts are enough to convince anyone to dive into this book. It is very important to surround yourself with literature that encourages spiritual growth, Godly principles, and gives a better understanding of His Word and commandments for the family. Think about this, “How can I stand for something that I don’t fully understand?” That’s a question every one of us should ask ourselves.
Sincerely,
Anna and Leah
Wow! Another year has flown by. It seems as if yesterday, I was sitting at my desk writing down a New Year’s resolution for 2019. And here I am again, but something is different, and that is my view on some priorities. As is the case with most of us, we write down goals like: read the Bible more, pray more, workout more, eat better, travel here, do this, do that. At least that’s kind of how my list looked like. However, I’d like to share how a recent family trip changed my outlook on life.
Just recently, we returned from a trip to a couple of countries where we spent the holidays. One country in particular caught my attention. To describe this country, you could say that by far it is not on the list of “wealthiest countries in the world”. In fact, you could consider it quite the opposite. However, what amazed me the most and touched my heart were the people. They are about the happiest, content, and hospitable bunch that I have ever come in contact yet. They don’t have a lot, but they give much. I know this may sound cliché, but happiness is in the heart, not in things! It is the ability to find joy and contentment in what God has already given you. This thought flows right into my next point.
While staying there, we had the great privilege of celebrating Christmas with our dear friends. Together we sang songs, shared stories, visited people, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. The day before leaving, I stood a little on the side and watched how our families sang together. The scene warmed my heart and I thought, “We spend so much time, resources, energy chasing our goals, trying to accomplish so much. When in truth, you could have the largest house, fanciest car, best job, and be so lonesome. On the other hand, you could have practically nothing, but if you have family and friends you have everything, you are the richest person in the world!”
That is why this year, my new year’s resolution is simply to find joy in everything and cherish the people that God has placed in my life. The rest will fall into place.
Sincerely,
Leah]]>Have you ever wondered about the benefits of reading books? Besides straining your eyes, there really are quite a few benefits, believe it or not! Just a few days ago, I sat down and started analyzing, though Daddy calls it daydreaming, exactly how books have impacted me. Here is a small list I put together. Now, mind you, it’s nothing fancy, scientific, or extraordinary, just a quick run through.
Besides improving reading skills, books:
So here is my short list, I told you it was going to be small! If, by any chance, it was too short for you, go ahead and reread it a couple of times. Though really, in all seriousness, there are a lot more benefits than just these three. So go ahead, get yourself a great book and find out all the rest of them yourself!

]]>Welcome to Abba Heritage! Thank you for visiting this website. I’d like to take a moment and introduce ourselves. I’m Anna, the eldest, and this is my sister Leah to the right. Many have asked what motivated us to start this business. The answer is quite simple. As children, growing up, we were exposed to a wide variety of books. Our dad made sure that the right kinds of books were readily available to us. He knew that they had a way of impacting a person, broadening horizons and shaping ones mentality. Books connect older generations with the new. Sadly, a lot of people no longer see it as something crucially important for the family or even the country. Realizing the gravity of this, we’d like to introduce you to great literature, aimed at strengthening, connecting and equipping families. It is our desire to pass on this treasure trove of knowledge - our father’s Heritage.
Sincerely,
Anna and Leah
